The Gift of Time

As I was sitting here this morning at 5:45 am. having my first cup of delicious coffee I started thinking about how valuable time is. From one point of view it’s a limited resource, from another, it’s everlasting.

Each day we have been given the gift of 86,400 seconds. The question that popped into my head, “Am I going to be a good steward with what I have been given today?” It’s a great question and one that cannot be ignored.

How often do we check email or text messages on our smartphone? I never realized that checking my email every 10 minutes, that's 6 times per hour which ends up to be 48 distractions over an 8 hour period. That is 12,000 interruptions over the next 12 months and this is only one example of how time escapes us all. How many times per day are we interrupted with stuff that really doesn't matter.

Please don’t misunderstand me. There is nothing wrong with email if being served correctly. Given my history, I am not making any judgments about how to do life.

Because of my recent medical challenges I simply have a different point of view for how I look at and approach daily life. Neither good or bad. Right or wrong. Simply my point of view.

Time is a funny thing. It keeps traveling no matter what. You may dislike how fast time travels, time really doesn't care. It just keeps moving forward.

How are you going to invest your 86,400 seconds today?
