It is what it is. No it’s not!

As I was sitting here during my quiet time having my morning coffee, I was contemplating how many times over the years that statement has come out of my mouth. Too many to count.

I believe this is one of the greatest deceptions ever from the father of all lies.

John 8:44

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Think about this statement for a minute,  “It is what it is.” What does that really mean? I could look at my current circumstances and accept the fact there is cancer in my body and the enemy is trying to kill me. That's what it is, the storm raging inside my body.

Or I could draw near to God and focus on what is not seen, like walking in perfect health (no sickness & disease) and what He says about His will for healing.

When Peter got out of the boat to walk on water there was a storm raging around him. The minute he took his eyes off of Jesus and focused on the wind, waves and his circumstances he began to sink in the water.

By the way, Peter was the only one that had the faith to get out of the boat and envisioned what was unseen (him walking in water) “not what is” (storm) but by “faith” what is possible. Walking on water.

So where is my focus?

Am I going to focus on the storm that is going on inside my body or am I going to listen to what God says, “On earth as it is in heaven,” where there is no sickness or disease?
